The Host file in windows XP, we can fix it. The editing in Windows 7 & Vista, we can not fix it, but not save. So we have change the permission to as admin or Modify.
1. How to change the permission host file.
Go to Directory or folder
- c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\ and right click a host file select Properties.
- Select tab Security and Edit Permission for you to Modify.
- OK and close tab
2. Open the DOS Program by Start program --> All Program --> Accessory Command Prompt (The right click and select Run as Administrator) and command.
takeown /f c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts
Just as we have the right to modify the Hosts file already.
